Based on my experience in other businesses in which something similar has happened, it's clear to me that some people in the film business have not yet realized that everything is getting cheaper and if they want to work, they'd better lower their price, especially in America.
Hi Doug, that's true except for in-demand Action directors. There's only a handful that operate outside the studio system and they can name their price. Independent (non studio) Action films are in constant demand with A-level talent and there's not a huge supply of directors hence they are in a lot of demand and can charge big fees.

To follow up on a previous post, financing it yourself is likely the main (only) course of action for micro-budget features, say under 500k?
