Yes, I will be attending not only for this initial exposure but a film I worked on is in competition- although I was BTL. I'm applying for accreditation but I guess I'm weary of the market since it seems most projects are well advanced so many attendees won't give me much "ear time"?

Yeah you will probably hear a lot of 'come back when you have cast' type of conversations but inevitably you'll meet some folks who are willing to listen, discuss, engage and hey, you can leave with a list of companies to circle back to once you're further along

Hi Stacey. Congrats! I wanted to ask about attending Cannes for my first time. Don't feel I'm ready to go full on into the market with my 2nd feature in early development but I did want see if you had any particular advice as I wanted to get a feel for initializing potential relationships with producing partners.

@Daniel - my advice is if you can scrounge together a small budget to attend in person, you probably won't regret it especially if you're there to meet new people and expand your network. Just by hanging around the event venues there's so many opportunities to meet people and everyone is generally in a chatty mood :) Also if you register for Cannes accreditation, you can attend the myriad panels and discussions they program which is an education unto itself, and also a chance to interact with the panel speakers potentially. And then there's just the mere exposure to the market itself which if you've never been to a film market of this scale before, will be eye opening to say the least and also an educational experience. Let me know if that helps!
