Stacey, when it comes to an offer, is there a general range or is it off the charts, can it be done piecemeal?

It depends on the actor of course and your Producer should have intel on what that actor could command. Not sure what you mean by piecemeal though?

Final question; does the Producer have this intel through industry experience alone or is there an organization that tracks actors pay that is accessible to upcoming Producers?

Yes through industry experience and contacts. For newer producers I recommend hiring a producer, EP, or lawyer as part of your team who has the experience and intel before making substantial offers to talent. You really want someone on your team who knows what they're doing plus the agents and managers need to have faith in your production team. I don't know of any organizations who share this intel openly, but there's probably other paid communities like my FS Pro group as one example, where this information is shared in a more discrete way.

Stacey, I wonder how you'd characterize a director's "small" industry profile. Do you simply mean "few credits"?

Yes one or two feature credits... any festival buzz or attention for past films helps too.

When you say, “director’s industry profile,” can you go into the details of what that specifically means?

HI Theo - essentially means their body of work, any buzz they've gotten from festivals, or recent releases... anything you can use to give your director a 'boost' when presenting a project to reps for actors. Let me know if that helps clarify!
