Are you interested in how to work the AFM?
After my post last week on AFM Financing Strategies y’all came through with lots of comments and questions, so I take it this is a topic you’re excited about!
Since then, AFM released another webinar replay called How To Work The AFM which is a couple years old, but still incredibly relevant.
Take a listen and let me know any questions you have. 🙋🏻♀️
A couple pertinent items though I picked out is if you end up registering for AFM you do get a year subscription to Cinando which is an incredibly helpful tool for researching buyers, sellers, financiers, etc. It’s definitely my tool of choice alongside IMDP Pro.
Also, sales agent and IFTA president Clay Epstein gave a terrific rundown on how to approach sales agents at the market and how best to present yourself and your project.
As a former sales agent myself, I fondly remember the days of being in meetings with buyers or having intense negotiations on a big sale, and being interrupted by filmmakers trying to pitch their projects at the wrong time and in the wrong way 🤦🏻♀️ So get on board with Clay’s advice!
A Small Group AFM Lab
Back in the day I used to run a Film Market Lab in the lead up to AFM and MIPCOM and it’s been a while but it might be time again to host a Lab for you guys who want to get up to speed on what to present, how to present, how to reach target buyers and sellers, etc. - whether you have a feature, doc, or series.
If you’d be interested in something like this please email me at stacey@filmspecific.com for details and a signup link so I can gauge interest and determine if it’s worth it to put a Lab together.
In the mean time, happy to chat through any specific questions you have below so please post them in the comments and let’s discuss!
Have a wonderful day ahead everyone and speak again soon!
Stacey
