Exploring The Financials Of Distribution
Hi everyone,
Hope you’re having a great day!
After my dispatch last week on the The Changing Face of Distribution I received a lot of emails about the types of deals you guys have been doing, what’s gone wrong, what’s gone right, and what you’d like to do differently next time.
I’d like to take the next step in exploring the financial outcomes of distribution, including what it costs to distribute a film (which most of the time isn’t taken into consideration).
I have a few case studies I’ll run through but in the mean time, if you have any stories or anecdotes you’d like to share with me, please do so at stacey@filmspecific.com.
I’ll also speak from ‘in the trenches’ experience as I’m in the throes of planning a fall festival premiere and subsequent distribution on one of the films I produced. Stay tuned for that!

Also last week I announced a summer special I’m running on Distribution Consulting.
As part of the consulting, I’ll advise on festivals, deal structure, delivery terms, and companies you can trust. In fact, that’s probably the most important part - who can you trust anymore? I’ll only place my clients with distributors I have worked with or would work with on my own films, simple as that.
If you’d like to work together on the distribution of your film, please start by filling out the questionnaire on this page…

OK look forward to discussing all this in upcoming dispatches and hearing from you directly about your own distribution anecdotes.
Have a wonderful rest of your day and speak soon!
To your success,
Stacey
