A (Half) Year In Review
The most popular posts from the last six months. If you've missed out on previous dispatches, you can catch up if you’d like :)
I hope you all had wonderful holidays and are getting ready for the new year!
If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably spent the last week or more during your ‘down time’ pondering all that you want to get going on in 2023 and thinking ‘hurry up already’ lol… yeah, I’m pretty eager to kick start everything into high gear again.
Something else I’ve enjoyed doing over the last week is catching up on year-end posts from some of my favorite newsletters and podcasts I subscribe to. It occurred to me I normally do one of these for my Film Specific Dispatches but this year was a bit of an anomaly….
First of all, I took a multi-month hiatus from publishing newsletters in the beginning of 2022, benefitting from a much needed reset. I then moved everything over to Substack mid-year and started publishing again on a regular schedule. Boy has that felt good!
Since then I’ve received several emails from long-time readers saying they miss my weekly newsletters and they haven’t heard from me in a while…. so perhaps in the migration over to Substack some subscribers didn’t make it across or received delayed newsletters?
I dunno…either way, I figured I would lay out the most popular posts from the last six months in case you’re reading this now and have missed out of previous dispatches, you can catch up if you’d like :)

Taking a break from production... but spoke to a North American distributor a month or so ago... I want to run a local film competition and offer winners immediate distribution as a way to encourage other filmmakers and reach the immediate community.
